How do I apply my foundation correctly?
If you prefer liquid foundation, simply add a dab of water to the foundation in the lid and mix well until you've reached your desired consistency. If you have dry skin, try mixing in a dab of moisturiser instead of water.

Prep
Start with a clean, dry face and make sure that any moisturiser that you use is absorbed into the skin before you apply our foundation, this gives you a clean, clear base to build up from.

Tap
Ensure that the powder is in the lower part of pot (if not then just tap the bottom of the jar onto a hard surface until all the powder disappears through the sifter into the bottom of the jar).

Dab and swirl
Use your index finger to tap a small amount into the lid, dab onto brush, tapping off excess powder back into lid and apply to face using light, circular strokes.

Build
You may keep adding layers of foundation until you've reached your desired coverage.

If you are finding it difficult to find the right shade then it is easy to adjust our loose mineral foundation colours by mixing in a shade lighter or darker, to do this you can purchase our mini sized jars and mix them together to reach your desired shade.

Mineral makeup is exactly what it sounds like — cosmetics made primarily from natural minerals found in the earth. Common ingredients include zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, mica and iron oxides.
The main ingredients in mineral makeup are naturally occurring minerals such as mica, zinc oxide, and titanium dioxide. At BareFaced Beauty, we keep our formulas as simple and clean as possible — no parabens, no synthetic fragrances, and no unnecessary fillers.
We’re also clear that “mineral” doesn’t automatically mean “100% natural” across the board — formulations can include additional ingredients to achieve specific textures or performance characteristics.
You have the right to know exactly what's in your makeup and where it comes from. We're open about our ingredients, our sourcing, and our certifications — no greenwashing, no vague claims, and no small print designed to confuse.
Ethical sourcing — especially for mica
This one matters to us a great deal. Mica is one of the most commonly used minerals in cosmetics, and it has a well-documented supply chain problem: child labour in mica mines is a genuine and ongoing issue.
We think it’s non-negotiable.
We work only with suppliers who can demonstrate child labour-free sourcing practices, and we buy organic where possible. This adds cost and complexity.
Every mineral in our products — including mica — is sourced from suppliers with clear, verified ethical sourcing policies. We only work with mines that are fully legal and completely free from child labour.
Vegan Makeup and Cruelty-Free: What’s the Difference?
“Natural,” “clean,” and “green” are not regulated terms. Anyone can use them. Third-party certification is what actually means something.

- Our cosmetics are made with naturally occuring minerals which have been purified in order for them to be safe for human use. Our products are alcohol-free, chemical-free, Paraben-free, Bismuth Oxychloride free and contain no dyes or perfumes.
- Are Barefaced Beauty Cosmetics Organic?
- No, our cosmetics are in-organic as they are mined and not grown, some cosmetics are stated as being organic but this is only because they have added extra organic ingredients to them, we believe in keeping our cosmetics as simple as possible so there is a reduced risk of irritation.
- Does mineral makeup look cakey?
- Not when applied correctly. Use a light hand and a good kabuki brush, building up coverage gradually for a seamless, natural finish.
- Is all natural makeup vegan?
- Not necessarily. Some natural ingredients, like beeswax or lanolin, are animal-derived. Always check for a certified vegan label to be sure.
- Do Barefaced Beauty Cosmetics contain Nano particles?
- No, none of our products contain nano particles.
